GEA Pharma Systems Shows Extensive Scope of Supply for Pharmaceutical Processing at Technopharm & Powtech

19 March, 2013 -- GEA Pharma Systems will be taking its place on the GEA Group stand at TechnoPharm & Powtech in Nuremberg from 23-25 April this year. Also on the stand: GEA Niro, GEA Tuchenhagen, GEA Westfalia Separator, GEA Niro Soavi, GEA Liquid Processing, GEA Barr-Rosin, and GEA Air Treatment. The united stand will clearly demonstrate the extensive scope of supply that customers have grown to expect from the GEA Group.

Technologies on display from GEA Pharma Systems will be:

ConsiGma™ 1: the lab-scale version of the ConsiGma™ continuous processing concept. This system includes a continuous high shear granulator and a small-scale dryer (handling 0.5 to 1.5kg of granules) and integrated controls. ConsiGma™ 1 is capable of running batches of around two hundred grams up to 5kg (or more if necessary), with less than 10g of product held up in the process and less than 80g of product losses. The process parameters developed with ConsiGma™-1 can be directly transferred to the full ConsiGma™ system.

Wash Off Line (Exchangeable Compression Module): a functioning WOL Exchangeable Compression Module (ECM), from the Courtoy MODUL™ table press, that contains all the product-contact components in a single module that can be manually switched in just 30 minutes at product changeover and washed off-line.

Buck® containment valves: including the unique Hicoflex® disposable, flexible couplings. Buck® containment technology provides for the safe transfer of potent ingredients between IBCs or to and from processing equipment.

High Containment small-scale Granulation System: a complete production plant for producers of small quantities of highly potent compounds, that does not need air-suits, takes the process from dispensed raw materials to finished tablet. The system illustrates how GEA Pharma Systems’ inspired technology can be selected to form a total solution tailored to suit each user’s specific requirements, whether through integration or split valve technology.

GEA Diessel fermentation and formulation: The main exhibit will be the 100L formulation vessel as an example of the company’s ultimate quality and design excellence for microbial and cell fermentation. Customised design … no dead legs … ideal for sterile operations … with the ability to accurately control process parameters such as temperature, agitation and pO2.

The GEA Group will be exhibiting in Hall 6, Stand no: 6-229.
