OAKLAND, N.J., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Collagen Matrix, Inc., the leader in collagen- and mineral-based matrix engineering, announced today that it is expanding its operations by the addition of a 28,000 sq. ft. facility at 15 Thornton Road, Oakland, New Jersey 07436.

The company will be relocating the majority of its manufacturing processes, Quality Control laboratory, R&D, warehouse, and the administrative group to the newly renovated state-of-the-art facility. Located in the McBride/Oakland Industrial Park, the Oakland facility will become Collagen Matrix's new corporate headquarters. The new facility is about three miles from the company's current 16,000 sq. ft. Franklin Lakes facility, which will continue to operate.

Named as the 16th fastest growing company in New Jersey by NJBIZ in 2009, Collagen Matrix's rapid growth has made the facility expansion a critical and necessary next step for the company. Some 6,000 sq. ft. of space at the Oakland facility was renovated and updated into new clean room space, and about 4,000 sq. ft. of space was renovated into multiple smaller laboratories and a pilot scale clean room.

"The new Oakland facility will provide Collagen Matrix with far greater capacity and flexibility to meet our customers' needs. The additional manufacturing space will also support our upcoming new product launches and continued growth in the future," said Shu-Tung Li, Ph.D., Founder and CEO of Collagen Matrix.
