BALTIMORE, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Alba Therapeutics Corporation announced today the hiring of Roberto N. Allen, Esq. as Senior Director of Legal Affairs and Corporate Counsel. Mr. Allen will be responsible for Alba’s legal affairs, including contract negotiation, intellectual property and corporate finance.

Prior to joining Alba, Mr. Allen was President of Respira Medical, Inc., a Baltimore-based respiratory and home heath care provider. He also was Of Counsel at the Baltimore firm of Kollman & Saucier, P.A., where he practiced General Corporate and Labor & Employment law. Previously, he was a Senior Associate in the Business Department in the Baltimore office of Saul Ewing LLP. He is the Immediate Past President of the Baltimore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (BHCC) (2004-2005) and Past Chair of the Maryland Hispanic Business Conference (2004). He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the BHCC (ex oficio), Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, American Red Cross Greater Chesapeake & Potomac Blood Region, and the Mount Washington Swimming Club. Mr. Allen also serves as a Commissioner on the Maryland Commission on Human Relations. He is a recipient of Hispanic Magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2005), the Daily Record’s Leadership in Law Award (2004) and the BHCC’s Man of the Year Award (2003) among other honors.
Mr. Allen holds a B.S.E. degree in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from Tulane University, an M.A. degree in Mathematics from the Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law.
