San Antonio medical device company KCI USA, Inc. will lay off 68 employees in San Antonio by May, the company notified state labor regulators.
The employees will be let go by May 8, the Texas Workforce Commission said in a Workforce Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice released Monday. KCI USA is a subsidiary of San Antonio-based wound care company Acelity.
“While decisions that affect our valued employees are extremely difficult, health care is rapidly changing and we are taking steps to evolve and grow Acelity to meet both the demands of the marketplace and our customers,” Acelity spokeswoman Kathryn Skeen said in an email.
