Michael J. O’Grady, Jr. Named President/CEO Of Norwegian American Hospital

CHICAGO, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Michael J. O’Grady, Jr. as President/CEO of Norwegian American Hospital.

“We are delighted to have Michael join our hospital on a permanent basis,” said Perry Gulbrandsen, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. “He has a clear understanding of healthcare issues and in particular the unique challenges we face in the communities we serve.”

Mr. O’Grady briefly served as Interim President/CEO at Norwegian American Hospital in 2000 and now returns on a permanent basis. Mr. O’Grady most recently served as Interim COO at Southhampton Hospital in New York. Prior to that he was President/CEO at MS Centers of Florida Foundation in Vero Beach, Florida where he directed the start-up of a new charitable foundation.

Mr. O’Grady has a degree from St. Bonaventure University and a Masters Degree from George Washington University. He replaces Michael E. Haley who took a hospital position in La Porte, Indiana. Mr. O’Grady, his wife Sandra and their two sons plan to live in suburban Naperville.

Norwegian American Hospital is a 200-bed acute care hospital on Chicago’s near north side. The hospital serves many diverse and vibrant communities including Bucktown, Humboldt Park, West Town, Wicker Park, Logan Square and Austin.
