TAMPA, Fla., July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Microlife USA announced today it has moved its U.S. operations headquarters to Tampa, the former home of the medical device manufacturer and distributor. The company’s move back to Florida comes after the company spent a year in Maine.
Microlife USA is the world leader in the development and manufacturing of medical diagnostic equipment such as blood pressure monitors, digital thermometers and peak flow meters.
The company is bringing breakthrough technology to the consumer market including home blood pressure monitors that have the ability to automatically make consecutive blood pressure measurements and average the results. This technology mimics the technique practiced by doctors when they measure a patient blood pressure and this patented feature is called MAM, short for Microlife Average Mode.
Microlife also manufactures and markets a new state of the art peak flow meter for patients with asthma & emphysema that allows for the measurement of FEV-1, an important measurement of breathing capacity in the treatment and management of COPD. Over 15 million individuals are projected to be diagnosed with emphysema in the next four years combined with the 15 million already under treatment.
“Tampa is Microlife USA’s home and the home of many of our employees. Moving back was an easy decision for us,” said Scot Dube, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Microlife USA. “The Tampa area is rich with talented people and it is an easy place to recruit people, as well. There is a wonderful quality of life that Florida, specifically Tampa, affords and we are pleased to be back.”
