FORT LEE, N.J., /PRNewswire/ -- For the last 20 years CareOne, a premier family owned and operated senior healthcare company with facilities in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, has placed a strong emphasis on ensuring that the individual needs of every patient and resident is exceeded. At the start of 2019, CareOne began its 20th Anniversary celebrations.

CareOne Celebrates 20 Years!

CareOne’s CEO and Chairman, Daniel E. Straus’ father, Joseph Straus, started CareOne as a premier family owned and operated healthcare company in the 1960s because he realized the need to care for an aging population. After his father’s passing, Daniel E. Straus wanted to continue his father’s legacy, and purchased CareOne at the Cupola and CareOne at Ridgewood Avenue.

CareOne was founded in 1999 and has grown its footprint into Massachusetts, Virginia, Connecticut, Maryland and Pennsylvania, and eleven counties in New Jersey, but has kept a family owned and operated feel. Today, Elizabeth Straus is the Executive Vice President and leads day to day operations for the company as well as spearheading all philanthropic initiatives.

A benchmark of the CareOne culture is, as EVP Lizzy Straus says, “to help those in our community.” CareOne has helped raise over $11 million in donations in the past five years with an emphasis on children and cancer related charities for the Gwendolyn and Joseph Straus Fund.

Today, as the leader in senior care, CareOne cares for over 100,000 patients and residents in its 57 locations. In 2018, CareOne successfully opened Bergen County’s only Assisted Living Community fully dedicated to memory care, Harmony Village at CareOne Paramus and has partnered with The Committee to Reduce Infectious Disease to improve infection prevention within their communities. CareOne offers a continuum of care through its services ranging from outpatient rehabilitation, post-acute care, long term care, assisted living, Alzheimer/memory care, respite care, hospice care, home care, and pharmaceutical services.
