Medable and Vault Health Partner to Expand Direct-to-Patient Testing and eCare for Decentralized Clinical Trials.
PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Medable Inc. and Vault Health, Inc. today announced that the two fast-growing digital health leaders are teaming up to integrate Vault’s expertise in diagnostics, logistics and remote care services with Medable’s end-to-end software platform for decentralized clinical trials. The partnership builds on a shared commitment to bring trials closer to patients via remote monitoring and high-touch patient services – helping make clinical trials more inclusive and accessible, and ultimately enabling new therapies to come to market faster.
The two companies will combine Medable’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform with Vault’s tech-enabled operational capabilities to provide a unified experience for patients, sites, and clinical trial sponsors. The partnership will enable sponsors to seamlessly offer Vault home testing and diagnostics, home healthcare visits and TeleVisits, virtual site capabilities, and related logistics, scheduling and status tracking – all easily accessed via Medable’s dedicated applications for patients and sites.
Both companies have experienced rapid growth, responding quickly to pandemic needs for more flexible, remote options to expert care. Vault was the first to bring FDA-authorized at-home PCR tests to market, and has now delivered more than 10 million COVID tests to consumers, employers, public health agencies, and school systems. Medable, likewise, played a valuable role during the pandemic, enabling clinical research to continue remotely while supporting COVID vaccine and therapeutic research at record speed.
Medable has now deployed its SaaS platform via more than 150 decentralized and hybrid clinical trials in 60 countries, serving more than one million patients and research participants globally. By minimizing the need for in-person site visits, Medable customers have achieved unprecedented results – including 200 percent faster enrollment, 90 percent retention rates, and 50 percent cost reductions.
“The future of clinical research is decentralized – whether that’s in a traditional clinic, a virtual site, a local pharmacy or someone’s home,” said Dr. Michelle Longmire, CEO and co-founder of Medable. “Teaming up with Vault Health allows us to make clinical trial participation much more convenient for patients – providing them with easy testing and diagnostic options, as well as expert remote care they can access from anywhere.”
Vault is a recognized leader in both home testing and clinical logistics, where it deploys its national medical practice of 1,000-plus clinicians to deliver patient-first diagnostics and care. Since launching in 2019, Vault has supported more than five million telehealth visits and more than 10 million patient interactions.
“As a digital health provider, we’re focused on how to bring care directly to people’s homes,” said Jason Feldman, CEO and co-founder of Vault. “The services we offer around in-home care, patient-centric logistics, testing and diagnostics, and virtual site capabilities are an ideal complement to Medable’s patient-focused clinical trial platform. Together we can bridge the gap between clinical care and clinical research, paving the way for much simpler and faster decentralization in clinical trials.”
