SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pneuma Respiratory, a healthcare company focused on the advancement of inhaled respiratory therapeutics, is attending this week’s 41st Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco to unveil the latest iteration of its fully digital soft mist inhaler.
First introduced in 2018, Pneuma Respiratory’s soft mist technology uses electronic breath actuation to simplify usage and improve delivery efficiency. The digital component delivers high dose confidence and real-time dosage verification to healthcare providers.
The latest generation of the device introduces several key features to further improve the efficacy of inhaled therapeutics:
- Respirable fractions up to 90%. Proprietary new aerosol generation technology produces a higher respirable fraction that significantly improves dosing efficiency and shows potential for lowering the overall dosage to create improved safety profiles.
- Voice coaching. Users are walked through the inhalation process in real-time, reducing the potential for misuse and improving patient compliance.
- High dose confidence. Dosage is measured throughout the administration process. If a patient does not receive the full dose initially, the device calculates the remaining dosage and gives the patient a voice command to inhale again to complete the dosage.
- Low shearing of biologics. The company has developed low-shear aerosol ejectors to deliver fragile biologics without shearing the molecules. This creates significant opportunities with inhaled biologic treatments for a variety of lung conditions.
“With our recent innovations we are seeing real progress in establishing partnerships that will directly impact patient outcomes,” said Eric Hunter, Pneuma Respiratory CEO.
