Wright Medical Group, Inc. Loses Another Top Exec

Lisa L. Michels, vice president and chief compliance officer, resigned from the company on Aug. 16, effective immediately, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Michels is eligible for severance benefits.

A committee of Wright Medical’s board of directors will retain a recruiting firm to search for a replacement. The committee has named John Knighton as interim CCO. Knighton has served as director of compliance since 2010 and earned compliance experience with other pharmaceutical companies before joining Wright Medical, the company said in the filing.

In early April, former CEO Gary Henley resigned and Wright Medical’s chief technology officer, Frank S. Bono, was terminated. Other executives have left the company since then.

Based in Arlington, Tenn., just east of Memphis, Wright Medical (NASDAQ: WMGI) is a global orthopedic device maker specializing in the foot and ankle markets.
