MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- ZONARE Medical Systems, a developer of next generation ultrasound technology, today announced the appointment of two leading business executives to the company’s board of directors. Laureen De Buono, chief financial officer of Thermage, Inc., and Jeffrey Otten, past chief executive officer for Stentor, Inc. and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, have been named as ZONARE’s newest board members, bringing the total number of directors to seven.

Prior to Thermage, De Buono served as a senior consultant to a wide range of companies including Critical Path, Restoration Hardware and Biosource. She also has held the position of executive vice president (EVP), chief operating officer (COO) and chief financial officer (CFO) at Resound Corporation and More.Com. Previously, De Buono had been EVP and General Counsel for Nellcor Puritan Bennett, Inc., as well as corporate counsel for The Clorox Company and Varian Associates. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Duke University, Master of Arts (MA) from Stanford University and Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) from New York University of Law School.
In addition to Stentor and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Otten has an extensive background in healthcare and biotech leadership. He has served as an executive consultant to Monitor Group and COO of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Previously, Otten was associate hospital director and CFO of UCLA Medical Center and CFO of Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He received his BA, MA and MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
De Buono and Otten join Southard; Robert Gallagher, past president, CFO and COO of Acuson; Thom Rasche, Earlybird Venture; Nadar Naini, Frazier Healthcare Ventures; and Alan Ferguson, 3i Ventures -- all previously appointed members of the board.
