Applied Silver Appoints Two New Advisors

HAYWARD, Calif., July 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Silver, the maker of SilvaClean Antimicrobial Treatment, today announced the appointment of Christopher Dawes and Dr. David M. Joyner as Advisors. Mr. Dawes and Dr. Joyner join the Applied Silver Advisory Board, a team of highly credentialed professional tasked with providing strategic guidance as the Company seeks to expand its commercial activities in healthcare, sports, hospitality and consumer products.

Mr. Dawes brings a strong track record as a senior executive in the healthcare industry. Mr. Dawes joined Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in 1991 and became its President and Chief Executive Officer in 1997. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer of the hospital, and Chief Operating Officer for pediatric and obstetric services for UCSF Stanford Health Care. Prior to joining Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Mr. Dawes held senior management positions at Stanford Health Care, Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center, San Francisco, and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, San Jose. He previously served as the Chair of the Board of the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions in Washington DC, a member of the Board of the California Hospital Association and a Board member of the California Children’s Hospital Association, and the Santa Clara Family Health Plan. Mr. Dawes earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from San Diego State University, and a MBA from the McLaren School of Business at the University of San Francisco.

Dr. Joyner has served as a physician, leading sports health executive, and decorated athlete. He joined Baptist Health Care in 2015, and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the orthopedic service line, including sports medicine, physician alignment, strategic business partnerships and affiliations, branding and recruitment. Dr. Joyner is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a sports medicine emphasis. He is a former chairman and senior member of the United States Olympic Committee sports medicine team and, most recently, was the athletic director for Penn State University and a member of the Penn State University Board of Trustees. Dr. Joyner is a two-sport All-American and was captain of the football and wrestling teams at Penn State. He also is an Academic All-American at Penn State. Dr. Joyner earned his medical degree from the Penn State College of Medicine and served residencies in general and orthopedic surgery at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
