BioFactura Announces Award Of A National Institutes of Health (NIH) Challenge Grant In Conjunction With Tulane University For Hemorrhagic Fever Research And Development

Tulane University announced the award of a National Institutes of Health Challenge Grant of more than $3.8 million for a three-year study designed to develop tests for a deadly group of diseases called hemorrhagic fevers. In partnership with the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases in Ft. Detrick, MD, BioFactura, Inc. of Rockville, MD., Autoimmune Technologies L.L.C. of New Orleans, LA., and Corgenix Medical Corporation of Denver, CO., Dr. Robert Garry, professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the Tulane University School of Medicine and his team will develop diagnostic tests for the Lassa fever virus and other hemorrhagic fevers using state-of-the-art recombinant approaches.
