TROY, Mich., Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- CareTech Solutions, an information technology (IT) and health information management (HIM) services provider for hospitals and health systems, today announced it has acquired Oxford, Mich.- based Sabre Consulting, including iDoc, a Web-based document imaging and management solution with a growing install base at hospitals, along with a portfolio of other web-based software solutions. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The acquisition of Sabre includes the transition of all of the company’s employees, including the development team, to CareTech’s headquarters in Troy, Mich. Ongoing support for existing product installs at area hospital clients will also transfer to CareTech under the deal.
The Sabre acquisition indicates further investment into web-based products, a growing segment of CareTech’s business. The Sabre product portfolio and development team will be integrated into CareTech’s Web Services division, one of five focused offerings the company has developed to meet the needs of hospitals around the country.
Formed in July 2005, CareTech’s Web service line offers hospitals web- based products and solutions that reduce cost and improve efficiency, such as content management systems, online bill payment, on-line registration, patient portals and group communications resources. In 12 months, the division has grown considerably, gaining over 20 new clients.
With the integration of the former Sabre developers, Web Services will leverage a team of 22 employees, which will focus on building upon the innovation contained in the current product line from a newly completed 5,333 square-foot suite, housed in CareTech Solutions’ 41,732 square-foot headquarters.
Former Sabre Consulting founder Lee Fleming joins CareTech and the Web Services division as chief technical architect. James Giordano, president and CEO of CareTech Solutions, says Fleming’s product development experience will be a tremendous asset as CareTech further strengthens its web-based service and product portfolio.
