Cretex Companies Establishes rms Surgical and Opens New Facility

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Under its recently formed Cretex Medical umbrella, Cretex announced that it has added rms Surgical. This new company represents a consolidation of rms Company’s instrumentation manufacturing and JunoPacific’s sterilization case and tray manufacturing.

“It’s actually more of a reorganization effort to better serve our customers,” remarked Dave Novak, President of rms Surgical. “We separated rms Surgical from rms which will continue to produce complex, tight tolerance medical device implants. rms Surgical becomes a single source provider of instruments and sterilization cases and trays with a focused management team and dedicated facility. This translates into a specific focus on operational efficiencies to reduce lead times on all orders.” Novak added, “We’re finding this especially beneficial for the orthopaedic market, as the needs for instruments and sterilization cases and trays differ from implants.”

Last month the newly formed entity completed construction of a new 109,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Anoka, Minnesota. rms Surgical also maintains a manufacturing site in Memphis, Tennessee where it recently completed a facility expansion to support its rapidly growing prototype and R&D area. With the reorganization staffing remained unchanged.

In addition to rms Surgical, Cretex Medical’s group of specialty contract manufacturing companies include: rms for contract manufacturing of medical devices and assemblies using state-of-the art machining and molding technologies; JunoPacific for the design, contract manufacturing and assembly of micro-molding, insert molding and multi-shot injection molding technology; Meier for custom metal stamping of small and miniature metal-formed components and assemblies; and Spectralytics, a contract manufacturer of laser-based services.
