Eric B. Goorno Joins BioDirection, Inc. as President & CEOe
Proven Medical Device Executive to Lead Commercialization of Breakthrough Technology for Objective Identification of Concussion
TUCSON, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BioDirection, Inc., an emerging medical device company focused on the development and commercialization of rapid, low-cost point-of-care devices for the early identification of mild traumatic brain injury (concussion) announced today that Eric B. Goorno has joined the Company as President & Chief Executive Officer. The new CEO will reside at the company’s headquarters in Massachusetts. Former CEO and Founder Brian McGlynn will transition to Director, Chief Technical Officer and Executive Vice President.

He is an aggressive, results-driven leader with extensive experience in emerging businesses, manufacturing and industry leading organizations.” said Mr. McGlynn. “Eric’s leadership, hands-on management skills and diverse cross-functional background will ensure that we are positioned to launch the first objective point-of-care product into the market.”
Prior to joining BioDirection, Eric had an extensive career with Boston Scientific (BSC), most recently as President of the firm’s $395 million Urology & Gynecology Division where he was responsible for establishing and driving the division’s global strategy and remarkable sustained growth. Prior to assuming this role, Eric held positions as Vice President, New Market Development and Strategic Planning, Urology & Gynecology; Vice President of Operations, Microwave Divisions; and Vice President and General Manager, Symbiosis Division. After leaving Boston Scientific in 2009, he founded Pulse Veterinary Technologies, L.L.C. where he served as Founder and CEO until moving to BioDirection. Earlier in his distinguished career Eric held various plant manager and operation roles at Synthes USA. Goorno holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Tufts University, cum laude, in Political Science and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
