THE BUSINESS: Evena Medical has developed technology that lets medical workers use digital imaging to see veins in a way that it says increases patient safety and reduces possible medical liability.
HOW IT MAKES MONEY: Revenue will be generated in two ways. There will be an upfront cost for the Evena system and substantial recurring revenue is expected from nominal “per use” fees.
BUSINESS/TECHNOLOGY IT COULD DISRUPT: Inserting needles to draw blood or insert an IV is the most common invasive procedure in medicine. Evena believes it can change how that is done by showing exactly where the veins are.
