With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare technology, Klein will be responsible for directing healthcare-focused initiatives worldwide and will represent InterSystems on healthcare-related standards bodies.
Prior to joining InterSystems, Klein was vice president and research director at Gartner, Inc. He directed a research agenda focused on IT architectures and enabling technologies for multi-entity healthcare organizations, and was Gartner’s lead analyst on the interpretation of HIPAA privacy and security rules. Klein’s extensive background also includes involvement in the development and support of commercial healthcare information systems for multiple leading healthcare technology vendors over more than two decades. Before joining Gartner, he was vice president of technology for The Compucare Company (since acquired by Quadramed), where, among a wide range of technology initiatives, he managed the implementation of the nation’s first HL7-compliant Admission-Discharge-Transfer interface. Klein has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Villanova University and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.
