Lifeline Cell Technology, LLC (Lifeline) announced that it has signed an agreement to exclusively license from Advanced Cell Technology (ACT, Worcester, Mass.) certain embryonic stem cell technology to produce retinal cells for therapeutic research use. Previous studies have shown that retinal cells have the potential to benefit millions of patients suffering from blinding diseases including macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa.
