SMC 2.0 is the latest addition to the NorthPoint Domain suite of products. The patient-to- practice communication component of the NorthPoint Domain Accelerator Suite, SMC 2.0 offers a secure, structured method for non-urgent electronic communication between patients and their physicians. SMC 2.0 allows patients to request an appointment, request a prescription refill, or ask a non-urgent medical/administrative question. Custom forms are also available. The latest and most popular enhancement is two-way communications that allow physicians and patients to correspond through a secure, HIPAA compliant environment.

Unlike conventional email, SMC 2.0 messages are encrypted, completely protecting them from interception by unintended audiences.
