Priority Health To Use Script IQ’s Physician Connectivity Program To Communicate With Western Michigan Physicians

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Priority Health, a nationally recognized managed care organization serving more than 400,000 members in Michigan, has chosen Script IQ to support programs that will slow the increasing costs of pharmaceuticals while improving quality of care for their employers and member-patients. In Script IQ, Priority Health has found formulary management and physician connectivity programs that provide an economic and effective way to enhance the delivery of formulary information to physicians, ensure its receipt, and provide appropriate tools to physicians to simplify their compliance.

“During our initial six-month pilot program, we will be evaluating Script IQ’s connectivity capabilities, so as to more effectively share up-to-date formulary information, alternative treatment and clinical improvement programs, and close the gap between formulary intent at the point of care and actual drugs prescribed,” commented Frank Marre, D.O., MS, FAOCOPM, Associate Vice President for Clinical Programs of Priority Health. “Script IQ can provide real-time feedback regarding the receipt and review of our programs’ messages, enabling us to continually refine those messages to targeted physicians.”

“Script IQ makes our program information more visible and accessible to our associated physicians,” remarked Edward Keating, Director, Pharmaceutical Services at Priority Health. “With Script IQ, we can efficiently deliver our programs designed to encourage the use of the most efficacious and cost- effective drugs and reach participating physicians more effectively, allowing us, for instance, to augment the information on our Generic Drugs: A ‘Class’ Act website (http://generics.priority-health.com/).”

“We’re very pleased to offer our medication management solutions to Priority Health and their medical groups,” commented John Pierce, Script IQ’s EVP. “Our immediately adoptable programs will have a meaningful impact in helping Priority communicate effectively with physicians and reach their cost savings goals.”

Seattle-based Script IQ provides powerful Web-based formulary management, prescribing and physician connectivity tools to medical groups, health plans, and pharmaceutical companies. Their Prescriber Portal and associated solutions enable physicians to make the most cost effective and formulary compliant choices.

Priority Health is a managed care organization serving over 400,000 member-patients from more than 6,100 employer groups across 31 counties in Michigan. They have been recently recognized with “excellent status” from the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
