SpectraCell Laboratories Completes Expansion To New Facility

HOUSTON, Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- SpectraCell Laboratories, Inc., announced it has completed the move into its new Houston headquarters. The new $2.5 million facility will serve as corporate headquarters and will also house the company's state-of-the-art laboratory. SpectraCell is a specialized clinical laboratory providing unique blood testing services for physicians nationwide. The company's patented FIA(TM) tests (Functional Intracellular Analysis) detect deficiencies of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants at the cellular level.

SpectraCell was founded in 1993 by William B. ("Chip") Stanberry, who serves as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. The company is privately owned, and its stockholders include two Houston-based firms, Houston Partners, a venture capital investment firm, and the Clayton Foundation for Research, an organization dedicated to medical research.

"The move went perfectly. Since our patented test is performed on live blood cells over the course of several days, the lab equipment needed to be handled and moved with the utmost care. Everything went extremely well. This move will be seamless for our clients and this expansion will really help us accommodate the explosive growth we have seen in recent years," says William "Chip" Stanberry, SpectraCell's Chairman and CEO. As physicians become more aware of the link between clinical nutritional deficiencies and chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer, they are realizing how FIA(TM) technology is an invaluable diagnostic tool in their practice.

The new SpectraCell building, which contains 20,000 square feet of space, is located at the Oak Park development in the Westchase Business District in southwest Houston.

About SpectraCell Laboratories, Inc.

SpectraCell is a CLIA accredited laboratory that services healthcare providers nationwide by providing an innovative assessment of a patient's nutritional status. Unlike traditional serum, hair and urine tests, SpectraCell's patented FIA(TM) (Functional Intracellular Analysis) process measures how an individual's white blood cells respond to varied environments of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. By evaluating the functionality of specific nutrients in a patient's own cells, individual differences in metabolism, age, genetics, health, prescription drug usage, absorption rate or other factors are taken into consideration, opening a true "window on intracellular function."
