Wolters Kluwer Health, Pharma Solutions Release: New Web Portal Provides Fast And Easy Access To Drug Articles And Reviews

PARSIPPANY, N.J., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Wolters Kluwer Health, Pharma Solutions business unit today launched Adis Online (http://www.adisonline.info/), a new web portal designed to help clinicians and researchers stay on top of progress in drug therapies. The site provides access to all Adis’ highly respected drug review journals and newsletters, including the facility to search over 50,000 drug related articles and register to be kept up-to-date with new articles as they are published. The new site also provides links to the detailed homepages of Adis’ 33 drug- related journals and publications and the ability to subscribe to each online.

The new Adis eTOC Alert notification service provides registered users with an Electronic Table of Contents (eTOC) from journals and newsletters in the Adis drug library. Users can sign-up to receive monthly alerts from one or all publications including Drugs, CNS Drugs and Drug Safety. The free service is available to all individuals who want to keep current on articles pertaining to drug development including both Adis subscribers and non- subscribers.

The sign-up process is fast and easy. Individuals simply visit Adis Online and register a name and email address for each publication for which they wish to receive an alert. Adis eTOC Alerts are then delivered on publication of the journal.

“Adis Online is another example of how Wolters Kluwer Health is helping customers get the most out of their information,” said Christy Wilson, Vice President - Global Marketing, Wolters Kluwer Health, Pharma Solutions. “The simple solution is often the best answer to a complex problem. Whatever it takes, we’re committed to helping customers keep current and we’ll continue to deliver the best solutions possible to address their drug information needs.”

All of the 50,000 articles in the Adis drug library can now be more easily searched. After a search is conducted, users have the ability to pull-up each relevant abstract at no charge. Users with active subscriptions to a particular journal have immediate access to the full text; and all others have the ability to purchase the full text as a single pay per view.

An eTOC Alert provides a replication of an actual table-of-contents page. Users can click on a title and gain access to the abstract or the full-text article via Adis Online. In addition, Adis maintains an archive of table-of- contents pages on its web site for users interested in reviewing article titles from back issues.

“Although electronic table-of-contents alerts are not new, this is the first time they are being applied in such a comprehensive way to the area of drug development,” said Gareth Taylor, Marketing Director, Adis Periodicals. “Initial response has been quite positive and we expect the service will help customers find pertinent articles that they might otherwise overlook.”

Adis International is part of the Wolters Kluwer Health Pharma Solutions business unit, one of the pre-eminent information providers to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets. Adis publications are among the most cited in their respective fields, and provide a unique blend of original articles, authoritative reviews, profiles and drug evaluations.
