Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin’s CompcareBlue Subsidiary Completes Acquisition of Atrium Health

MILWAUKEE, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- CompcareBlue, the HMO subsidiary of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin (BCBSWi), announced today the completion of its purchase of the assets of Atrium Health Plan, Inc., a Hudson, Wis., based health plan serving 28 counties in northern and western Wisconsin. Atrium Health Plan was a non-Blue Cross Blue Shield branded subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota. BCBSWi announced its plans to acquire Atrium on May 31, 2005.

Gunderson Lutheran, along with Mayo Health System, is also available to BCBSWi's PPO members. In addition, Atrium members will have access to BCBSWi's broad portfolio of products that include its nationwide provider network.
