Cadent Introduces Seminar Series Highlighting Team Approach To Technology Integration In The Orthodontic Office

CARLSTADT, N.J., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Cadent, provider of the OrthoCAD market-leading suite of 3-D digital solutions for the orthodontic industry, kicks off a continuing education seminar series with the goal of educating doctors and staff members within an orthodontic practice on the clinical and business efficiencies provided by new technologies, including OrthoCAD iQ. The series began December 1 in Phoenix, and will continue in Atlanta January 12 with more dates to be announced for 2007. The sessions will highlight the necessity for a total team approach in integrating technology and the role each staff member has in implementing OrthoCAD digital solutions.

The educational session, approved by the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and available for five AGD continuing education credits, will be presented by Dr. Michael Mayhew, a long-time user of OrthoCAD iQ, and Mary Beth Kirkpatrick, a consultant and founder of Kirkpatrick & Associates, a practice management firm specializing in orthodontics. Dr. Mayhew of Boone, North Carolina, who integrated Cadent’s Orthodontic services into his orthodontic practice three years ago, will discuss topics such as staff training initiatives and accountability when implementing new treatment planning and bracket placement technologies into the practice. Kirkpatrick will provide insight into how to streamline new clinical technologies into the practice to improve organizational structure, efficiency and profitability.

“It is imperative to provide doctors and staff members with educational opportunities that may help streamline their practices, ultimately improving patient care and decreasing treatment time,” said Dr. Mayhew. “Not only should the doctor be well versed in the clinical productivity of a new technology, but his staff should also feel confident and knowledgeable as they are interacting with the patient during the course of the treatment plan as well.”

Cadent’s Orthodontic services, marketed under the brand name, OrthoCAD(TM) provide 3-D digital models for orthodontic treatment planning and the correct placement of appliances. OrthoCAD’s iQ service allows practitioners to go beyond the study models to simulate treatment strategies and select and execute the most appropriate treatment plan that includes more precise positioning of orthodontic brackets. OrthoCAD services reduce the treatment time and number of patient visits by more than 30 percent, benefiting patients and orthodontists alike.

“Cadent recognizes the value of not only providing a best-in-class digital solution for the orthodontic office, but also educating orthodontists and staff members on how to best implement the technology to realize its many benefits,” said Eldad Taub, president and general manager of Cadent’s OrthoCAD suite of products. “We look forward to witnessing the reaction of participants as they learn the steps necessary to effectively integrate OrthoCAD iQ treatment planning and bracket placement technology into their practice for greater practice efficiency and improved patient care.”

The “It’s About Time” seminar series will be held Friday, January 12 at 9:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Atlanta. For more information on this program and upcoming seminar series please call 800-577-8767 Ext 145.
