(Nasdaq:CMRX), a biopharmaceutical company developing novel, oral antivirals in areas of high unmet medical need, today announced that it has filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for certain stockholders of Chimerix to offer shares of common stock in an underwritten public offering. Chimerix will not receive any proceeds from the sale of the shares. The principal purposes of the offering are to facilitate an orderly distribution of shares and to increase the company's public float.
