SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 9, 2019 -- Datavant, the leader in helping healthcare organizations connect and share health data, today announced a series of corporate updates.

First, Datavant announced a multi-year, strategic partnership with Parexel, a leading provider of solutions to accelerate the development and delivery of innovative new therapies. Through this partnership Parexel will be rolling out Datavant technology as a default workflow for all of its clinical trials. Datavant’s technology will be used to connect clinical trial data to real-world evidence, including data from academic medical centers, patient research networks, and a variety of claims, EHR, lab, and other data sources.

Datavant also announced that it will be a founding member of the Boston University Data Privacy Collaborative, which aims to bring privacy-preserving technologies such as multi-party computing (MPC) to bear on real-world applications. Through the partnership, Datavant intends to design MPC-enabled approaches for sharing insights from health data drawn from multiple sources. As a member of the Collaborative, Datavant will continue its work with Boston University researchers to leverage their open source MPC libraries in the design of solutions that enable two or more parties to compute functions on their data without any of the data leaving its original environment.

Finally, Datavant announced the following milestones two years after the company’s launch:

  • 200th institution entering Datavant ecosystem
  • 400th data link across institutions in the Datavant ecosystem
  • 100 billionth record de-identified or linked by Datavant software

“Our mission is simple: connect the world’s health data to improve patient outcomes,” said Travis May, Chief Executive Officer, Datavant. “After two years, we are excited to share the rapid growth of our health data ecosystem, as well as our pioneering partnerships with Parexel to incorporate real-world data across all Parexel clinical trials and with Boston University to bring multi-party computing into the real world. We are just getting started.”
