PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Derma Sciences, Inc. (OTCBB: DSCI), a manufacturer and marketer of advanced wound care products, today reported its results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2007. For the third quarter ended September 30, 2007, the Company reported net sales of $8,056,402 and net income of $9,854 compared to net sales of $7,606,851 and net income of $402,499 for the third quarter of 2006. Sales during the third quarter were driven by continued growth of the private label business as well as growth in sales of advanced wound care products including ALGICELLTM Ag Antimicrobial Silver Alginate dressings, which were introduced in November 2006. Gross profit increased $66,984, or 2.5%, to $2,714,603 in 2007 from $2,647,619 in 2006.
