Brentwood, TN (PRWEB) May 23, 2012 -- Second Life Biomedical was started as a subsidiary company of Dixie Medical in early 2012. For over 13 years, Dixie Medical has provided defibrillators and other medical equipment to over 20,000 customers in the U.S. and abroad. Originally started to service Dixie’s current defibrillator customer base, Second Life Biomedical has quickly expanded into servicing infusion pumps, suction units, vital signs monitors, ventilators and other medical equipment.
Matthew Spencer, President of Second Life Biomedical, says providing service, in addition to Dixie Medical’s product mix, was a logical move. “For over a decade, we have outsourced our service to experienced and trusted biomeds in different locations. Now we have two full-time, certified biomedical engineers in our building. This reduces shipping expenses and time in transit, which improves our overall level of service to our customers.”
Medical equipment maintenance and repair are becoming more important as equipment owners seek to extend the life of their devices. Tightening budgets have dramatically affected the purchase of new capital equipment. “We are seeing more and more organizations repairing aging medical devices rather than purchasing new ones due to financial constraints,” Spencer says. “By properly maintaining devices according to manufacturer guidelines, the useful life of a device can be easily extended.”
Second Life Biomedical is a Brentwood, TN-based biomedical company providing repairs, parts, service contracts and preventive maintenance to EMS, fire departments and medical facilities in all 50 states.
