WELLINGTON, New Zealand, Jan. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Volpara announced today the appointment of breast imaging expert Monica Saini, MD, MS, as Consultant Diagnostic Radiologist. Dr Saini brings a deep understanding of breast imaging and will help Volpara Solutions accelerate the development of its clinical applications suite of quantitative breast imaging tools. To date, Volpara’s products measure each mammogram and assess volumetric breast density, patient dose, breast compression, patient positioning and other factors to help maintain accuracy and consistent quality in mammography and tomosynthesis screening. “Dr Saini is an internationally recognized expert in breast imaging, particularly with regard to dense breast tissue masking and breast cancer risk assessment, and she is focused on how to best image women to ensure their cancers are detected as early as possible,” said Ralph Highnam, PhD, Volpara CEO and Chief Scientist. “We are excited to take full advantage of her passion and knowledge to help us solve problems that negatively impact the quality of breast screening.” Dr Saini has dedicated her career to advancing the early detection of breast cancer. She is a U.S. trained radiologist with an additional fellowship in Women’s Imaging. She was the Chief of Breast Imaging at Santa Fe Imaging and Christus St. Vincent Hospital. She then joined GE Healthcare as Consultant Medical Director of Automated Breast Ultrasound Systems. Dr Saini recently relocated to New Zealand and serves as a diagnostic radiologist at Hutt Valley DHB and consultant to Volpara Solutions and GE Healthcare. Dr Saini is a global breast imaging expert, international lecturer and patient advocate. “I am proud to join Volpara to help meet two common goals. First, to enable patients to make informed choices about breast screening by creating an optimal screening plan based on their individual risk and breast density, and second, to ensure that every mammogram is high quality,” said Dr Saini. “As a breast imager, I understand the challenges that clinicians face to deliver high quality breast health care, and I welcome the chance to examine these obstacles and help create solutions that improve care and the doctor and patient interaction and experience.” About Volpara Solutions View original content with multimedia:http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/dr-monica-saini-joins-volpara-solutions-as-consultant-diagnostic-radiologist-300587031.html SOURCE Volpara Solutions |
