Consolidation of manufacturing sites
EKF Diagnostics Holdings plc (AIM: EKF), the AIM listed point-of-care, central laboratory and molecular diagnostics business, announces that it will close its manufacturing site in Sanford, Florida.
The site, which manufactures centrifuges and hematocrit analysers under the Separation Technology, Inc. brand, will close in Q1 2016 as part of EKF’s announced intention to make further operational savings.
EKF will transfer production to its Boerne, Texas plant. The Company will seek to retain staff in key positions, where possible.
Julian Baines, CEO of EKF Diagnostics commented: “As we announced in our Interim Report in September the senior management team is committed to continuing the process of integrating the Group’s manufacturing facilities. The closure of the Sanford site allows us to concentrate our production within one US site and benefit from the associated savings in operational costs.”
