Emeryville Occupational Medical Center Expands to Sacramento

New state-of-the-art facility continues proven model of prompt treatment with a return to work focus

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Dec. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Employees and employers in the greater Sacramento area can soon benefit from a comprehensive suite of healthcare services at a new state-of-the art facility dedicated exclusively to occupational medicine.

Sacramento Occupational Medical Center (SAC-OMC), located at 3840 Watt Avenue, Building B in Sacramento, opened its doors to patients on November 26, 2018. The new location continues the successful treatment model for work-related injuries and illness that has been in place at Emeryville, Santa Cruz and Redding Occupational Medical Centers for over 15 years.

Dr. Steven A. Gest, MD, an innovator in occupational medicine, along with Patricia Hopp, PhD, an occupational health and injury care specialist, introduced a unique treatment approach when they founded EOMC in 2002. Their focus is based on “Three Cs": caring, consistency and communication. Emphasizing prompt care and a return to work focus, SAC-OMC’s treatment model improves patient outcomes while reducing employer costs by minimizing lost employee productivity and time away from work.

“I look forward to bringing our comprehensive services and unique treatment approach to Sacramento,” said Dr. Gest, CEO, Founder and Medical Director of EOMC and SAC-OMC. “We are committed to providing the highest quality care to employers and their workers, with the ultimate goals of functional recovery and quick return to work.”

Like EOMC, the SAC-OMC staff and facility offer extensive occupational medicine expertise and comprehensive treatment services including: injury care and first report of injury, on-site specialist consultation, post-offer/pre-placement physical examinations, drug screening and breath alcohol testing, physical and occupational therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic services, vaccinations and urgent care for ill workers.

“EOMC’s success has proven that the return to work process is more efficient when an employee receives prompt treatment from competent people who care, the employer knows someone in the clinic understands their specific business needs, and communication is fast and easy to understand”, said Patricia Hopp, COO, Partner and Co-Founder of EOMC and SAC-OMC. “We are excited to partner with the Sacramento community to improve workplace health while lowering costs.”

Local employers are invited to tour SAC-OMC, meet Dr. Gest, Patricia Hopp and other staff members while enjoying light refreshments at a complimentary open house on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 5:30pm7pm at 3840 Watt Avenue, Building B in Sacramento. Please RSVP at dr@sacomc.com.
