The Early Years
NSF-DBA was initially founded as David Begg Associates in 1986 by former pharmacist and UK Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspector David Begg. Begg's mission was to advance pharmaceutical quality by providing high quality training to pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals. He developed a first-of-its-kind training program - The Qualified Persons (QP) Training Program - in the wake of the first UK medicines legislation. The QP Training Program gained industry admiration for combining academic education with pragmatic teachings from industry veterans, and expanded to a master's degree program in 1990. This program continues today as a leading program for Pharmaceutical Quality Professionals throughout Europe.
2000-Present
The growing demand for NSF-DBA's high quality training and consulting services abroad led to expansion to other regions of the globe, beginning with Ireland, Puerto Rico, and Singapore, where multinational companies were investing in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Today, NSF-DBA is a global organization, assisting companies throughout Europe, Latin America, US, China, India, and South Africa.
In addition to expanding regionally, NSF-DBA also expanded their services beyond pharmaceuticals to the dietary supplements and medical devices industry, launching several new global training programs. These include the:
- Dietary Supplement Quality Professional Training Program
- Medical Devices Diploma Program
- Quality Leadership Program, a training program for US pharmaceutical professionals similar to the Qualified Persons (QP) Training Program in Europe
These programs assist global pharmaceutical, dietary supplement and medical devices companies in improving product quality and complying with international regulatory requirements by developing the knowledge and skills of their key staff. "Our founder believed that people are the most important active ingredient in any process. NSF-DBA has continued this vision for more than 25 years by helping thousands of pharmaceutical, dietary supplements, and medical devices companies worldwide improve the quality of their products by providing the best training and consulting services for their people," said Bob Pietrowski, Managing Partner, NSF-DBA.
