General Electric Co. is facing a patent infringement lawsuit related to its system that monitors hand washing by workers at health care facilities, the Enquirer reports. Batesville, Ind.-based Hill-Rom filed the suit in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, claiming GE’s product infringes on three of its patents. The hospital furniture and medical technology firm says it developed the system, which monitors employees in contaminated areas and checks when they wash their hands, more than 15 years ago.
