CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Hospital Partners of America, Inc. (“HPA”) announced today the completion, by one of is affiliates, of the asset purchase of the 246-bed Redding Medical Center in Redding, California, from a subsidiary of Tenet Healthcare Corporation. The new name of the Redding facility, Shasta Regional Medical Center, also was announced today. Shasta is the name of the county in which the medical center is located, and also the name of the 14,162-foot Mount Shasta nearby in northern California.

The City of Redding is the economic center for Shasta County, with a population in excess of 170,000. The new owner of the hospital will be Shasta Regional Medical Center, LLC, a California limited liability company, which is a subsidiary of HPA, a privately held company founded in 2002 and headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.
