MUNDELEIN, IL--(Marketwire - January 21, 2010) - Andy Mills, president of Medline Industries, Inc., has been appointed to the HIDA Educational Foundation board of directors, the company said. The HIDA Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA), the health industry’s leading trade association representing medical products distributors.
Medline is the nation’s largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of medical supplies. As a member of the HIDA Educational Foundation board of directors, Mills will work towards building a stronger industry for supply chain partners by offering direction and planning suggestions for the Foundation’s current and future projects. The Foundation’s mission is to build a more effective and efficient healthcare supply channel through networking, business intelligence and educational opportunities for industry participants.

In addition to this new position, Mills is also on the board of directors of NorthShore University HealthSystem, a comprehensive, fully integrated healthcare delivery system that serves the greater NorthShore and northern Illinois communities. Mills has been the president of Medline since 1997. He graduated with a B.A. from Tulane University and received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
