American Esoteric Laboratories, Inc. (AEL), a full-service provider of esoteric clinical laboratory services to hospitals and specialist physicians, announced today that it has received $70 million in equity from ABS Capital Partners, a leading private equity firm focused on investing in established and profitable growth companies, and Oak Investment Partners, a growth-oriented private equity firm. In a related release, AEL announced the formation of its company and gave background on its co-founders and business strategy. The proceeds from the funding will be used to pursue AEL's growth strategy, including the build-out of a primary, state-of-the-art laboratory facility, the acquisition of high-quality, niche esoteric testing providers, and the recruitment of clinical experts in specialty disciplines to perform in-house testing. John Stobo, a General Partner at ABS Capital Partners, and Ann Lamont, a General Partner at Oak Investment Partners, have joined AEL's board of directors. The Company also announced that it has acquired its first two specialty laboratories, ThromboCare Laboratories and Viral Diagnostics, Inc.
