Nursing Spectrum Announces Expanded CE Program

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Blending various media and best practices from their individual continuing education programs, Nursing Spectrum and its recently acquired company, NurseWeek, have introduced several new continuing education products, designed to meet the needs of entire health care facilities as well as individual RNs.

This first, CE Select, is "an improved version of CE Direct," according to Ken Ramirez, Director of Corporate Education, referring to Nursing Spectrum's former online Continuing Education service that allowed employers to provide RNs with an online education center, including on-demand reports and tracking.

"The new CE Select system is based on a much more powerful and comprehensive web-based learning system," Ramirez said. "It has the ability to run completely customized reports that you can export to Excel. It tracks every user and allows them to view their transcript and print their own CE certificates."

Specifically, improved features of the new CE Select corporate education program include:

-- Access to over 400 unique ANCC accredited courses.

-- Unlimited learning options: Nurses can study from their home computer,
from a home-study book, from a work station at the hospital, or
straight out of their Nursing Spectrum or NurseWeek magazine.

   -- Reporting/Tracking capabilities: Users simply log-on - via any
computer - to the CE Select online learning system and print a
      transcript or CE certificate.

-- Marketing/Promotional options, including introductory letters, custom
ID cards, and color flyers are included for each user. Color posters
are printed to post throughout participating facilities. There's even
a section in every Nursing Spectrum and NurseWeek magazine,
distributed to over 1 million nurses, that highlights every CE Select
      partner.

-- Unlimited service provides administering, documenting, testing, and
processing support. A dedicated support team helps system
      administrators and nurse users alike.

-- Content development and updates: Every month Nursing Spectrum's
highly-qualified network of nursing education content developers
create a new package of CE courses - to which all CE Select
      participants have instant access.

Also being offered now by Nursing Spectrum's CE program is the Continuing Education Gift Card, good towards over 400 Nursing Spectrum/NurseWeek online CE courses. Nurses can redeem their CE hours anytime and anywhere they have Internet access. Every course offers instant CE certificates printed upon passing exam.

Yet another Nursing Spectrum CE product is the CE Learning Management System (LMS) -- an expanded, full-scale corporate education implementation and tracking system, that provides the tools and resources needed to streamline a health care organization's entire array of educational offerings. It allows educators to publish their own content online and to track and manage all offline offerings at their facility.
