Buffalo, NY – Praxis Communications, a full-service patient recruitment agency that specializes in optimizing patient enrollment for research studies, announces it has completed its certification under the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Cross Border Privacy Rules system (APEC CBPRs), a member-backed data privacy certification that bridges differing national privacy laws that companies can join to demonstrate their accountability within the APEC region.
As one of only a few companies worldwide and the first small businesses in the U.S. to meet the APEC Privacy Framework requirements, Praxis maintains its commitment to protecting the privacy of clients, sponsors and patients, with regards to the cross-border flows of personal information.

In order to obtain certification, Praxis had been required to follow a robust list of privacy policies and practices within the APEC Privacy Framework, which were reviewed and verified by accountability agent TRUSTe, a wholly owned subsidiary of privacy compliance technology company, TrustArc.
In addition to its APEC certification, Praxis participates in and has certified its compliance with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework for all onward transfers of personal data from the EU. Praxis also complies with the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
