RI Bio Appoints Dr. Patrice Milos as Chairman

Life Sciences Group Also Expands Board with Additional Members

Providence, RI – December 5, 2019 – RI Bio, southeastern New England’s leading life sciences industry group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Patrice Milos, CEO and co-founder of Medley Genomics, a Providence-based life sciences company dedicated to addressing the challenges of genomic heterogeneity in the diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases, as its new chairman of the board. Dr. Milos is a resident of Cranston.

“Patrice is a pioneer at the interface of genomics and medicine and brings highly-innovative industry expertise and strong leadership skills to our board,” said Carol Malysz, Executive Director, RI Bio. “Her leadership will help RI Bio to grow to new levels of distinction and impact in the life sciences community.”

Initially focused on oncology, Medley Genomics provides unique ‘molecular fingerprints’ of a patient’s cancer, enabling individualized diagnosis and optimal treatment. “I am proud of the progress Medley has made in Rhode Island, and it’s a testament to RI Bio and the work it’s doing to make connections across the life sciences industry to help companies grow and thrive in Rhode Island,” Milos said. She has served as a member of the RI Bio board since October 2017.

RI Bio also appointed two new members to its board. Guy Asadorian of East Greenwich is Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America. Guy provides the board with expertise in finance and direction in growth opportunities. Brian Butler of East Greenwich is Vice President of Business Development for Cranston-based The Allied Group which provides printing, creative and promotional services to a variety of industries including the life-science industry.
