More rumors surface that Abbott Labs is conducting January layoffs, this time at facilities in Ireland. More rumors surfaced that Abbott (NYSE:ABT) is looking to make cuts in its workforce, with an Irish paper reporting that nearly 80 employees will be cut from 3 local plants. Ireland's RTE News reported that Abbott plans to lay off 29 workers from a Co Longford diagnostics plant, another 29 from a Sligo diagnostics plant and 20 from a Cootehill nutritional facility.
