ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Sechrist installed the first Veterinary Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber in the state of Michigan at Woodhaven Animal Hospital in Woodhaven, Michigan. Having a Veterinary specific Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber has allowed Woodhaven the opportunity to offer free HBOT sessions to animals suffering from smoke inhalation, as a result of house fires. Sechrist is proud to support Woodhaven in this endeavor, as HBOT is one of the primary ways to heal animals that suffer from smoke inhalation.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) dramatically increases the amount of oxygen delivered to the body, allowing for a quicker recovery. Although Veterinary hyperbaric technology is still in its infancy, multiple case studies have led to an increase in the utilization of this therapy. Some of the many benefits of HBOT include:
- Reduction in swelling from infections
- Elimination and reduced effects of toxic substances, such as snake bites
- Promotion of healing of tissues as a result of crush injuries
Woodhaven is saving lives by way of giving animals impacted by house fires free HBOT sessions. As a result, these HBOT sessions help to promote new blood vessel formation, heal burns, and treat smoke inhalation via an increase in the amount of oxygen delivered to the bloodstream.
John Razzano, President of Sechrist Veterinary Health, stated “We are extremely proud to offer our veterinary specific Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber to Woodhaven Animal Hospital. Everything we do is grounded in improving outcomes for patients. By aligning with industry pioneers, such as Woodhaven, we look forward to seeing the utilization of HBOT grow over the coming years.”
