Bizjournals -- A Tampa-based hotel owner is seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for his Orlando area hotels. Southeastern Income Properties Inc. and Gulf South Income Properties Inc., both owned by Jevon Estes of Susan Kay Drive in Tampa, filed separately in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court’s Middle District of Florida. Gulf South, which does business as Howard Johnsons and HoJo Maingate, reported minimal assets and liabilities. However, Southeastern, which does business as EconoLodge, according to the filing, listed assets of up to $500 million and liabilities of up to $1 million.
