ROCKFORD, Ill. (April 14, 2009) — Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, introduces two Thermo Scientific In-Cell ELISA Detection Kits to provide a simple and convenient method for quantifying intracellular proteins in whole cells.
The Thermo Scientific In-Cell ELISA Near Infrared Detection Kit enables the simultaneous detection of two different target proteins within the same well (e.g., a post-translational-modified protein and its unmodified form), eliminating the variability caused by differences in cell plating. The kit uses primary antibodies to the target protein(s) and corresponding species-specific Thermo Scientific DyLight-conjugated Secondary Antibodies to monitor target protein(s) levels. The kit is compatible with the popular Odyssey Infrared Imaging System.
The Thermo Scientific In-Cell ELISA Colorimetric Detection Kit uses target-specific primary antibodies and a horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated detection reagent to detect proteins of interest. To control for differences arising from cell plating, a whole-cell stain is included for normalization.
The kits enable accurate quantitation using either a standard ELISA reader (colorimetric detection) or an infrared imaging system (near infrared detection) and offer higher throughput over traditional Western blotting methods. The assays are performed in 96- or 384-well microplates, making the assays amenable to automation which is ideal for siRNA studies and drug screens.
Both the Near Infrared Kit and the Colorimetric Kit supply sufficient materials for 4 x 96 wells. The kits can be stored at 4°C for up to one year. For more information, please visit www.thermo.com/pierce or call +1-815-968-0747.
